THE SCIENCE
How Laser Hair Reduction Actually Works
Laser hair reduction is based on a principle called selective photothermolysis. A precisely-tuned beam of light targets the melanin (dark pigment) inside your hair follicle — converting to heat that disables the follicle's ability to produce new hair.
Because the beam is selective, surrounding skin is untouched. And because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are needed to catch every follicle in its active (anagen) phase. Most patients see significant reduction by session 3 and 80–90% permanent reduction by sessions 6–8.
The diode laser fires a controlled pulse
Calibrated for your skin tone and hair color — typically 810nm wavelength for Indian skin.
Melanin in the follicle absorbs the light
The energy converts to heat at the follicle's root — the dermal papilla.
The follicle is permanently disabled
